Viewfinder Challenge from Shutterstock
August 14, 2012
If you submit stock photos to Shutterstock, you will be happy to hear that they have announced the Viewfinder Challenge. The first Viewfinder Challenge theme is "Celebrating Life". Three Grand prize winner in each categories (photo, vector/illustration, and footage) will have his/her profile on the Shutterstock blog and receive a Shutterstock bag valued around $100. There will also be 2 runners-up in each categories. The prizes for the runners-up are still unknown. But any exposure as runners-up would be great.
The deadline for submission to the Viewfinder Challenge is September 10, 2012. The maximum amount of entries per person is 25. So far, one thing I like about this contest is that the winning photo, vector/illustration, or footage will still be non-exclusive. Unlike some stock agencies, the winning file becomes exclusive for up to a year or two.

It's also a great place to go through their photos for ideas. You can make some money from stock photos, but as any other things in life, you'll need to invest some time into it.
